Summer Scholarship 2009

In Their Words

I don't have enough words to thank you and everyone that is making Biomedical Treatment possible for my son Luke. I would not be able to afford it without this scholarship. Luke deserves this help so much. He is bright, funny, and has a lot potential. It is so hard to be a single mother of an autistic child, but I'm thankful to have him in my life. I'm always blessed with people like Myles-A-Part to help us. I can't thank God enough for that. Thank you so much!
--Andrea, Luke's mom

The Myles-A-Part scholarship allowed Megan to take part in Christy Kennedy's "Move, Feel, Learn, Live It" camp. This program teaches children with sensory differences how to identify their levels of arousal and begin to participate in their own regulation. This instruction was combined with intensive therapeutic exercise in a positive, play-based, social setting. This week of camp has been a fantastic experience for Megan and would not have been possible without Myles-A-Part's generous assistance. THANK YOU!!!
--Margaret, Megan's mom

I would like to thank Myles-A-Part for the summer grant. I had it applied for Joseph's supplements. I believe the supplements with the GFCF diet has helped him with cause and effect as well as better eye contact and his digestive issues.
--Ray, Joseph's dad

Thanks again so much for your help. After only the second visit, our new therapist has been so helpful. She got to see firsthand the aggressive issues we are dealing with and she is coming up with a plan for us. I really think this will be beneficial for him.
--Paula, Trent's mom

The scholarship, for us, means that Maya will be able to attend camp at the SensationsTheraFun Gym. Being an adoptive single parent of two special needs children means that a lot of time is spent caring for the children and little time left over for "mommy's time out", so this scholarship is truly a God send and we are very thankful to be recipients. Thank you so much, again, for choosing our family.
--Tamera Gayles, Maya's mom

This scholarship means a great deal to my family, for the simple fact that autism is a complex, arduous, and not mention costly condition that can eventually burden a family who is not financially capable of withstanding the financial blows. Any relief is a great one. That is what receiving this scholarship means to our family- a great big sigh of relief!
--Patreece, Zaccai's mom

The scholarship has enabled Aidan to receive ABA therapy. His twin brother, Gabriel, also affected by autism, has been receiving ABA for some time. Due to finances, our family has been unable to afford ABA for Aidan until he received the Myles-Apart Scholarship. He has made so much progress. He is now talking in 5-6 word sentences. Before his ABA therapy we were lucky for him to speak single words. He is also counting objects up to 20. We are thrilled with what we are witnessing! Thank you for renewing our hope that Aidan will win the battle against autism.

We are so thankful for the scholarship we received from Myles A Part. We were able to purchase a special highchair for Noah to sit in during meals. Noah even got an outdoor swing when we ordered the chair! We also were able to pay for Noah to be in a summer gym class. He really loves the class and his brother Jonah gets to share in the fun. And finally we used the money to pay for some medical labs and doctor bills. Thank you for making our lives a little easier this summer. Your scholarship was a true blessing to our family.

--Rita, Noah's mom
